video patrol
This is a new service offered by Coastal Security in an effort to improve the
effectiveness of roving property patrols and to respond to the ever-diminishing
workforce severely limiting our ability to place standing guards on many sites.
Basic “Video Patrol” incorporates the use of three on site video cameras
monitored from a remote location with a patrol guard response to unauthorized
activity during hours when no on- site guard is present. This reduces the
randomness of routine after-hours patrol and replaces it with eyes on key areas
after hours by a trained guard who, upon the detection of any unauthorized
activity, will dispatch a patrol guard to the property.
Additional cameras and monitors may be added in order to enhance observation of
the property. There is a one-time charge to cover acquisition and installation
of the additional equipment, but there is no increased charge for monitoring the
additional cameras.
Because the actual video recording equipment can be physically present on site,
the addition of an on-site monitor can allow a security guard, maintenance or
management staff to observe these same key areas during the time that they are
on site. In the event an incident occurs requiring a permanent record, the
Digital Video Recorder (DVR) has the capability to copy video archives to a CD.
It is not our intent to sell CCTV equipment but rather offer an affordable
security solution for clients demanding more than random patrols with service
closely rivaling that of an on-site guard. We provide, install, maintain and own
the cameras. The entire cost except a one-time installation charge is
incorporated in the monthly service charge. Initial offerings of this service
will be between the hours of 4pm and 6am daily with 24-hour service available at
a later date.

Cameras are installed so as to be unobtrusive yet provide the best observation
of critical areas.

Observation of any unlawful or improper activity on a monitored property is
immediately patrol by the monitor guard resulting in a more efficient use of
patrol time.
wireless internet
Coastal Security is partnered with Neighbor Networks, a wireless Internet
provider to make "Video Patrol" a reality. While looking for an affordable way
to transport video images from various beachfront properties to the Coastal
Office for monitoring, we stumbled upon Neighbor Networks. Neighbor Networks not
only provided a very reasonable solution, but also provide technical assistance
to ensure that "Video Patrol" is a success.
Neighbor Networks offers high speed (faster than DSL) wireless Internet access
to subscribers in the Orange Beach Gulf Shores area on a daily, weekly or
monthly basis with no service contracts and no billing. It is also offering T1
to T3 level service to businesses in the area as well.
